This week, Liam and Kevin look at Disney’s College Road Trip and The Classic Caballeros Collection
Disney’s College Road Trip
Liam’s thoughts: This was a goofy comedy that kids and grown ups can like. His favorite part was the “Houdini” pig, and he wishes the whole movie was about the pig going to college. [Grade: ROCKS.]
Kevin’s thoughts: He’s never been a fan of either Martin Lawrence or Raven-Symone. However, together they had good chemistry and made the movie work. The silliness and committment to over-the-top situations made this film work. He also agrees with Liam in that the pig was the funniest part of the movie. [Grade: Kinda rocks.]
Disney’s The Classic Caballeros Collection
Liam’s thoughts: While the musical title number from The Three Caballeros was good, he got bored with the movie. The first film, Saludos Amigos was also boring and could have used more cartoon moments instead of documentary style. [Grade: Kinda stinks.]
Kevin’s thoughts: He understands what the Walt Disney company was doing with the films - to foster better relations with Latin America after World War II. However, the movies feel too much like a Latin American travel guide. The cartoon elements are good, but the musical numbers often take too long. [Grade: Kinda stinks.]
