DVD Reviews for Episode 1

This week, Liam and Kevin look at Disney’s Minutemen, Phineas and Ferb and The Wizards of Waverly Place
Disney’s Minutemen
Liam’s thoughts: It was a fun time travel story, with only a little bit of kissing. The movie made him wish that time travel was possible so he could buy all the WebKinz in the world. [Grade: Kinda rocks.]
Kevin’s thoughts: While the Disney Channel often focuses on content for tween girls, it was nice to see a fun adventure for boys. Jason Dolley from “Corey in the House” does a fine job leading the cast. [Grade: Kinda rocks.]
Disney’s Phineas and Ferb: The Fast and the Phineas
Liam’s thoughts: This is one of Liam’s favorite shows on the Disney Channel right now. He loves the goofy nature of Phineas and Ferb, and he enjoys the silly situations they find themselves in. [Grade: ROCKS.]
Kevin’s thoughts: Although he doesn’t always like the shows that Liam watches on television, he really enjoys Phineas and Ferb. The irreverent humor and pop culture references are fun. In particular, he enjoys the side stories with Agent P, which remind him of Secret Squirrel and Kim Possible. Kevin wants a Tom Jones-style theme song for his life, like Perry the Platypus has. [Grade: ROCKS.]
Disney Channel’s The Wizards of Waverly Place: Wizard School
Liam’s thoughts: Even though the star of the show is a girl, he enjoys the stories, especially how they use magic to do crazy things. [Grade: Kinda rocks.]
Kevin’s thoughts: The show seems to be a bit of a rip-off of Harry Potter, but he appreciates the fact that they acknowledge the similarities in one of the episodes. Selena Gomez does a good job leading the cast, even though she’s currently feuding with Miley Cyrus. [Grade: Kinda rocks.]
